PRIMARY CLASSROOM
Primary Classroom
Salado Montessori offers an authentic Association Montessori International (AMI) curriculum for students ages 3 to 6.
A hallmark of Montessori education is its hands-on approach to learning. Students work with specially designed materials, manipulating and investigating until they master the lesson inside. There are well-defined spaces for each part of the curriculum, such as Practical Life Skills, Sensorial, Language, Math, and Culture.
The Montessori teacher, child, and environment may be seen as a learning triangle, with each element inextricably linked, and a vital part of the whole. The teacher thoughtfully prepares a classroom environment
A Montessori class is composed of students whose ages typically span three years. Ideally, students stay with the class, and teacher, for the entire 3 year cycle, forging a stable community and meaningful bonds. It is common to see students of different ages working together.
The primary Montessori classroom is a 3 year program starting with the the Half-Day school day and then moving to the Extended-Day (Kindergarten) school day.
The Half-Day school day is for 3 and 4 aged students from 8:30 to 12:00. The tuition is $525 a month.
The Extended-Day (Kindergarten) school day is for 5 and 6 aged students from 8:30 to 3:00. The tuition is $725 a month.
